Regarding the 2nd edition (2012): Cons Outweighed the Pros by a mile !
Pros: Catchy cover - comestic change
Well tabulated contents
Huge coverage with > 30pages on electroDx
fronts are more readable and appealing (bigger in size too)
Cons: Slightly bigger size about 20% bigger form than 1st edition.
Important topics NOT updated such as current Rx for DVT/VTE: the Newer oral anticoags (Rivaroxaban etc) Not coverd or mentioned, literally unchanged info from the 2003 edition so the chapter is very much outdated. very disappointing.
Missing was also important management description in topics such as Autonomic Dysreflexia. There was as good explanation of the AD mechanism but very cursory touch on its treatment (compared to the 1st edition where a pretty comprehensive outline was printed). very disappointing.
Missing was the useful chapters on: Immobility; Orthotics; Diagnostic Imaging.
A few of the photos of actual prosthesis (adapted from Braddom) were Underdeveloped : too dark to see some of the features in the photo: example: Prosthetic Knee joint and the UE TR Body powered prosthesis. Disappointing.
Could have been much better made use of the space with More updates which Did not happen.
If you have the 1st edition then you do not really need to get this as the changes are not great enough to justify an actual upgrade - stick with the 1st ed !!

This book saved my butt a couple of times when I failed to read up on a topic and needed a quick digest to keep myself from looking stupid. Has all the bare essentials. In no way a comprehensive textbook.
