This book offers basic analysis of key topics in Emergency Medicine. Is it as thorough as Rosens? No. But I don't want it to be.
By Jeremy J Voros
This book is more comprehensive than most books from the review courses but not as dense as Rivers or the Texts. Lots of helpful charts that frankly would be more helpful clinically. The best thing is the sectional approach (which seem to parallel the Peer questions) and complete index that you can use in the Kindle version for fast access to key points. Its way too big to carry (much thicker than the past edition) but the Kindle version is perfect for a bit more info than your Tarascon Pocketbook but not the overwhelming detail of Up to Date. Its drawback are a lack of actual questions, but there are lots of question like passages. As hinted at above if you carefully study the sections before you do the Peer helps your score quite a bit. However, like all EM study Guides the sheer amount of information requires good test taking skills so a dedicated question source is a requirement. Finally, more color pictures would be helpful. Good Luck.
