Gladding's book is perhaps the most comprehensive group text out there. Compared to some others, he cites from a wide variety of perspectives and does not ignore groups which are not primarily therapeutic, delving into group dynamics and other foundational issues. I doesn't matter if you are a counselor, psychologist or social worker, this is a good springboard to understanding the field.

I thought that this book was a helpful group therapy book, however I wish that it gave a better picture of how different theories approach group therapy.
