This book was required for my embryology class and after using it, I was a bit disappointed. There were many concepts which I thought could have been explained better. I don't think that thus book is designed for first time embryology exposure, it doesn't go in enough detail for the concepts to make sense as whole. I think this book is designed for students who have taken the whole course and want to use this as a review. The book does come with animations but, they don't have audio and they the texts go too fast. I've seen free YouTube videos that were better.

This book is boring to read but the pictures are helpful. I recommend using the access code and using the online Student Consult site. The site breaks things down into what the true "essential" info is much easier to get through and take notes from. I just felt like this book had so much detail it was overwhelming for me. The pictures helped sometimes, but I wish they were more 3D because embryology is so visual and difficult to understand without good diagrams or videos.
