At times humorous, sad, thoughtful and insightful, taken together, these stories paint a portrait of a long gone era when doctors and patients forged meaningful relationships with one another, and ask what we have sacrificed on the long road to progress. I enjoyed this book. It is a warm and personal account of a life spent in the medical field but much more than that. In essence it traces the change that has taken place in medicine over the last 40 years.
