You may find it shocking to know that medical boards are engaging in fraud, repeatedly reprimanding excellent patient care. They would be disbarred and remanded if they followed their own policies. Furthermore, reprimanding excellent care does not help patients and probably harms them.
It is not too surprising that they do not want any accountability for their decisions. Appointment me to the medical board and I will accept responsibility for my decisions. The VA Scandal is not isolated to the VA. Intervention will reset safety, and then when a new physician or mba assumes leadership, the environment of safety may quickly dissipate. People who advocate for change will be reprimanded and disciplined and/or dismissed. Whereas physicians permit patient harm to occur are often promoted.
