Radiopharmaceuticals in Nuclear Pharmacy and Nuclear Medicine, 2nd edition, is an essential reference for nuclear pharmacy practitioners, nuclear medicine technologists, and nuclear medicine physicians. It will also be useful as a textbook in programs that educate these practitioners.
The first 12 chapters cover radioactive decay, radiation detection and measurement, radiation protection and risk, radiation safety, radiation biology, licensing and regulatory controls, radionuclide production, radiopharmaceutical chemistry, radiopharmaceuticals for positron emission tomography (PET), the nuclear pharmacy, and quality control. He is Director of the Nuclear Pharmacy at UNC Hospitals, where he has practiced for 32 years.

Falen, MD, PhD, is former Director of Positron Emission Tomography and Assistant Professor of Radiology and Biomedical Engineering, Department of Radiology, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
