I am a first year RN student and I have found this to be my go to book for med surg. It also includes everything that will be on NCLEX so I am sure my copy will be pretty worn out by the time I graduate.
PROS 1. - tons of questions online ( note if you get a used copy you will have to pay additional for access to those)
2. Very concise review of all key material.. This is really nice when you don't have to lug around a super heavy book or sets of books to get all the info
3. many visuals and mnemonic aids included.
4. Excellent questions - other books I found had some DUH even a first year would no that questions.. I was not pleased.
5. Includes the alternate format questions that we all love to hate.
Cons... I am trying to think of some right now.... ?? If I think of any I will update my review.

This book is not for those learners who expect a lot of pictures to help out. It is mostly condensed text on the topics. Very few pictures, which really surprised me. I had gotten the Mosby's Pharmacology Memory NoteCards by the same first author and found it very helpful with pictures and concise text. This may be a good review guide, and is supposed to help access many additional review questions, which may be helpful...I will try to update later. But be aware that it has few illustrations and has smaller print than most textbooks. Very dry reading.
